A detailed look at how to use Camera Plus’s AirSnap feature #cameraplus #photography

In my recent review of Camera Plus I touched upon the handy feature introduced with the March 2014 update – AirSnap. This feature turns an iOS device, which can be an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, into a remote trigger that can be used to take a photo on another iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Remote triggers have rarely been a feature in smartphone apps up to this point. Yes, you can use the volume…

Read my review of Camera Plus and its game-changing AirSnap feature, #cameraplus #iphone

In the HipstaGeneration spotlight this week is Camera Plus for the iPhone.

And there’s no guessing what app category Camera Plus falls into – with a name like Camera Plus its a dead giveaway. Camera Plus, however, is not to be confused with the iconic Camera+, which in May 2012 was the 10th most popular paid app of all-time among iPhone users.

Read my review of Hipstamatic PrintLab here #photography #hipstamatic

Despite the huge benefits generated by the digital revolution for photographers there is still one aspect that pixels just can’t replace from the analogue era – and that is the satisfaction of seeing the printed photograph.

The print gives a photograph an air of permanence and uniqueness, two things that aren’t really associated with digital images. Prints also look good – they can be framed,…

Find out what Stackables is like to use here, #stackables #iphone #photography

Hipstamatic may have kicked started the photo-filter revolution in smartphone photography, and although it’s still hugely popular, it’s by no means the last word on image effects. App developers have, by and large, used their experience of desktop image editors, like Photoshop and Gimp, when creating photo filters for mobile devices.

To assist photographers in their creativity and increase the…

The internet is awash with photos. Every topic under the Sun (including the Sun itself) has been photographed a multitude of time. Just to get some perspective on the sheer number of images that are taken, 208,300 are uploaded to Facebook every minute, while Instagram sees 27,800 images uploaded every minute (Source from a video by BuzzFeed).

That all adds up to a lot of photos. And it’s only…

Apple’s App Store is now in its sixth year and over this time it has steadily matured. Gone are the heady days when any app with a gimmick could capture an instant market – remember when novelty sound apps regularly topped the charts?

Now there has been a perceptible shift in how developers view the crowded market for smartphone apps. The apps released today are becoming more refined, more…

You cannot buy electronics with food stamps. You cannot buy cigarettes with food stamps. You cannot buy pet food with food stamps. You cannot withdraw money with an EBT card (food stamps).

Do you know what else you can’t buy with food stamps? Shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, tinfoil, plastic sandwich bags, toothpaste, cleaning products, tampons, pads, over the counter medications (such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc.), and anything else you can think of that you cannot physically ingest for nutritional purposes.

Do you know what you can buy with food stamps? Food.

Do you know what it’s like to scrounge for change to buy non-edible necessities, use a credit card and EBT card (food stamps) during the same transaction, and then have the person in line behind you judge you for buying the ingredients to make a birthday cake?

People who disseminate false information about food stamps have never had to use food stamps.
